China Heart Congress (CHC), co-hosted by the Chinese Medical Association and the National Cardiovascular Center in Aug.7th 2014 -10th days, was held in Beijing National Convention Center. This Congress has become the most influential academic event in China, and so as in the Asia-Pacific region. Experts and scholars from all over the world shared and discussed in CHC2014 the latest research, hot issues, cardiovascular medicine, teaching, researching, defending, and some other academic information, coping with each other to meet the challenges that some countries, some regions and the world facing.
Angy Technology participated in the event actively. Reporting congress with topic “The application of central arterial pressure, ABI and arterial stiffness measurement” was held in Room 311A, 3/F National Conference Center, Beijing at Aug. 8 2pm-4pm. Professor Michael O'Rourke from Australia, Professor Jiang Xiongjing from Beijing Fu Wai hospital and Professor Li Yan from Shanghai Jiaotong University Affiliated Ruijin hospital were the Chairman of the meeting. The 3 of them reported on the topic respectively, and some professors in the field also gave wonderful speeches about non-invasive cardiovascular central arterial pressure measuring.
Professor Michael O'Rourke, regarded as the father of PWV, has been worked on centers noninvasive arterial pressure for nearly 60 years. At the invitation from China Heart Congress, he made reports on "using non-invasive central aortic pressure wave to instruct on the treatment of chronic heart failure".
Professor Jiang pointed out that non-invasive pulse wave analysis is playing a significant role in assessing the nitrate’s effects towards cardiovascular system, and so as in the study of nitrate’s drug resistance as well as the potential value that antihypertensive drugs towards cardiovascular. While it can be hard to find or underestimated via traditional monitor, it’s of importance observing the medical impact on central arterial hemodynamic. More and more evidence indicates that in assessing cardiovascular risk and derived central aortic pressure wave, the supercharging and its index of brachial blood pressure can reflect in a better way. Meanwhile the effect of evaluating the reduction of cardiovascular hemodynamic of active drug and lowering hypertension is superior to brachial cuff blood pressure.
Cardiovascular Professor Hu Rong, director of Beijing Anzhen Hospital gave speech on "the clinical value of getting ABI and baPWV measured", shared the experience of using the non-invasive atherosclerosis detection for many years, elaborated ABI and PWV’s significance and value for measuring the body's arterial stiffness and cardiovascular disease, allowing the doctors and experts to have a better understanding of both the current and future condition of noninvasive detection of atherosclerosis research.
Cardiovascular disease is a health problem worldwide, and has been included in one of the top ten threats to human health. While the prevalence of cardiovascular disease in China continued to rise, the situation becomes crucial. Comparing to peripheral blood pressure, the central aortic pressure reflects the blood vessel loads of left ventricle, coronary and cerebral arteries more directly and accurately; comparing to brachial blood pressure, its correlation with cardiovascular target organ damage and associated cardiovascular events is stronger, thus providing a better reference for prevention, diagnosis and treatment for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. AtCor SphygmoCor’s non-invasive and accurate measurement of central blood pressure, atherosclerosis, cardiac stress index, heart rate variability and other functions are widely used to assist in prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment, providing effective solution for practices and researches in areas of cardiovascular, kidney disease, diabetes, etc.
Angy achieved a great success in China’s Heart Congress, and took this event an opportunity to study with experts and scholars worldwide the technical superiority and application of non-invasive central blood pressure, seeking better ways for domestic detection of cardiovascular disease, meanwhile improving our level in the field of cardiovascular function
